ludlow pavillion
The first of a three stage development, comprising the design of landscaped grounds, pavilion and luxury residence.
2010
Location: Hamilton, Brisbane, Queensland
As part of a large scale redevelopment of this inner Brisbane site, the first stage of this project was to complete major earthworks and landscaping, and the construction of a garden pavilion. Stage two will comprise the design and construction of a six level residence and is due to re-commence in early 2015.
The site which is south facing and located on a steep hillside, was in a poor condition and so initially, Aspect in conjunction with our client set about re-habilitating the landscape. Through extensive planting and the establishment of paths and intimate spaces the site sets up a 'secret' garden approach to its pavilion.
The pavilion is an open timber and steel structure which houses entertaining space and services and acts as a vantage point from which to experience and enjoy the overall landscape.
