Urban Development Institute of Australia Best Medium Density Development QLD
Inner city living
Lima Street Apartments is a five-storey multi-residential development located in inner city Brisbane, a short stroll from the Brisbane River. The development is comprised of 15 boutique units with generous and open living and balcony spaces. On an elevated site, the building has the benefit of spectacular long views of Mount Cootha to the west.
Considered articulation of the building envelope turns internal rooms toward a view without impacting on the privacy of neighbours, and also acts to break down the building mass, creating recesses along the elevations and providing opportunity for denser areas of mature planting at the ground plane.
Quarry stone clads the solid base on which the building sits, fine screening elements, and warm and neutral colour selections create a smart and sophisticated material palette for the building.
